in the doctor who fandom we don’t say “i love you”, instead we say “a night on darillium lasts 24 years” and i think that is beautiful
One of the best mom moments in TV history. I wish more parents knew how important it is to validate their children’s feelings.
I get really protective over Carrie Fisher because nerds will go on and on about how cool and great Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford still are, but they’ll always be like “Carrie Fisher sure didn’t age well huh” and it’s like you know what? fuck you. she aged beautifully. she’s amazing. she’s gorgeous. just because you can’t fantasize about her returning to the gross metal slave bikini doesn’t mean she isn’t exactly as incredible as her old cast mates
Carrie Fisher is a fucking gift to humanity who we don’t deserve, and if you don’t know that, you’re ignorant, or you can’t read, or both.
Then good for you! I’m happy that something so simple as foreign animation could get you interested in learning a whole other language. Don’t let people make you feel bad just because things Naruto or Sailor Moon got you interested in Japanese. I only ask that you take note that the way they speak in anime isn’t how people speak in real life, and not to ignore learning about Japanese culture as well. Happy studying you guys!
i’ll never understand people who wake up and immediately begin talking because i need to go through a 2 hour period of wanting to kill a man before i’m ready for human interaction
I am one of those people.
I’m still working on getting it down to two hours or less.
Two stunning pieces of artwork by Chinese artist nkzhangwang (张旺).
They incorporate the aesthetics of China’s Three Kingdoms/Six Dynasties eras with Transformers.
Periods, you no longer impress me. I am bleeding from my nethers, WHATEVER. Try something new, uterus. You make chocolate pudding instead of blood, then we’ll talk.
This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen
yeah this is actually how it goes
Every couple months, this comic has a renaissance on tumblr and I think by this point, in the year since I’ve made it, I’ve learned about every period every tumblr user has ever had.
Would you say it resurfaces
periodically
I hate when textbooks try and throw in a dry joke stfu we’re not friends just tell me what i need to know and bounce
Time for all of us to speak up. This isn’t a joke anymore. To the cheers of thousands, Donald Trump has called for committing war crimes against women and children, for banning Muslims (including U.S. citizens) from entering the U.S., for shutting down mosques, and for tracking religious minorities with a database and possible ID badges. (In addition, he shared false information from a white supremacist Web site to spread lies about African Americans and crime, and has called for the deportation of millions of immigrants.) We’ve seen a Christian college president urge his students to take up arms and “end those Muslims before they get here.” And across the country, Muslims report that their mosques are being vandalized, that they are receiving death threats by the hour, and that women in head coverings are being harassed when they go out in public. Needy families fleeing terrorism in their own countries, who have spent years being vetted to receive refugee status and a safe home, are arriving to the U.S. only to be turned away by state governors. The hysteria and xenophobia has gotten completely out of control, and it runs totally contrary to our country’s commitment to religious freedom and especially to the teachings of Jesus. If a pastor, family member, friend, or acquaintance expresses support for violent rhetoric against minorities, speak up. Call it out. It’s not okay.
We can stop wondering if we would have protested the anti-Semitism that led to the Holocaust. This is exactly how it begins. Now’s the time to speak up and to act.

Ramen - Naruto
Guess who’s back! I finally have enough time and energy to make up some more recipes, and what better recipe to celebrate than some ramen? I got a lot of suggestions for this one, and I understand why. When I was big into Naruto, those hot steaming bowls of ramen seemed like the absolute perfect meal. However, back then, I didn’t understand the difference between those, and what came out of Top Ramen packets. Now, I’m still using the Top Ramen noodles, but I’ve added a lot more traditional ramen elements. And even if the noodles and stock aren’t 110% authentic, it’s still delicious. Believe it!
(If you’re really looking for a from-scratch-as-traditional-as-you-can-get, I’m planning on making up that recipe a bit later. Be forewarned, it’s a bit time consuming)
Ingredients
- 2 Packages of Top Ramen
- About 5 cups of pork or beef broth (You can use the stuff in a box, the stuff in a can, or the cubes or the paste)
- Pork tenderloin
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Baby bok choy
- 1 Green onion
- Soy sauce
- Optional:
- Aburage - that’s those brown sticks on the right side of the bowl, it’s a type of soy product that’s used when you make inari-zushi. It’s some of my favorite stuff, and you should be able to find it at an Asian food store.
- Nori - I forgot to put this is mine, but it’s those black/green sheets sticking out of the back. You’d probably be able to find this at any grocery store with an Asian foods section
- Kamaboko - This is that white thing with the pink swirl. Its made of a sort of fish paste that is steamed into like a cake. I know it’s kind of distintive in the Naruto ramen, but I didn’t have time to go and grab some from an Asian food store (which is where you’d have to get it).
Directions
- Marinate the tenderloin for at least 3 hours. You can use just soy sauce, or a mixure of whatever other Asian sauces you want. Teriyaki would be good, as would some mirin.
- Preheat your oven to 450, then cook the tenderloin for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked all the way through.
- Put your eggs in a pot with enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil and cover with a lid. It should take about 10 minutes to hard boil the eggs. Then pull them out and put them into a bowl of cold water to cool.
- While this is happening, pour or mix the stock/broth in a pot and bring it to a simmer. You can add soy sauce or mirin to taste.
- Once simmering, add the Top Ramen noodles. Do NOT add in the flavor packets. Let that cook.
- Now, we cut up all the toppings! Peel the eggs and slice them in half, cut the pork, kamaboko, bok choy, aburage, and green onion into thin slices.
- Serve up the noodles and broth in a nice deep bowl, then place all the ingredients in groups on top, and add in a few small rectangles of nori. Itadakimasu!
